Is Apple getting into crypto and what does this mean for cryptocurrency?
Apple Job ad increases prospect of possible dive into crypto!
Recently, an apple job ad has increased commotion and raised the possibility of the company making its debut into the crypto space.
This comes after a recent Apple job vacancy for “Business Development Manager — Alternative Payments” and specifies that candidates should have experience with handling cryptocurrency. “The recruit would be joining the team that’s responsible for Apple Pay and the iPhone Wallet app.”
The fact that there are talks about this feature happening is massive for the space. Imagine the expansive reach and adoption this can foretake! Everyone that has an iOS smartphone will have access the crypto assets! The “key qualifications” for the role, initially spotted by Coindesk, include 5+years experience working in or with alternative payment providers, such as digital wallets, BNPL, Fast Payments, cryptocurrency etc.
“We are looking for a candidate who is comfortable with ambiguity, enjoys thinking about edge cases and asking ‘what is an alternative way of doing this’,”
Something to take note, we spoke of Nodle in the past here on The Crypto Life style. They deal with IoT networks. Which is any device that can be connected to the internet. Whether it be cellphone, smart devices, practically any device that uses the internet. Nodle is attempting to connect an entire network of IoTs together. Nodle is partnered with some very notable names here…. Namely Cisco Meraki and Exodus HTC, even Stellar is involved. This means not only is banking touching this, but cell tech manufacturers and telecommunications as well. An absolute huge potential for Apple and Nodle to even conjure a partnership.
With the detail of requirements they put into the Key Qualifications, it truly seems Apple is looking for a true innovator to help them steer them to the top. I am excited to see how Apple or a similar tech giant enter the scene. This will truly be the stamp of approval needed for mass adoption and legitimacy in the space.
